Record Breaking GCSE results for Churchmead

Churchmead School continues to achieve impressive results with GCSE grades rising significantly again this year breaking all previous records. 78% of students achieved 5 A*- C grades, 69% including English and Maths. The best ever results for Churchmead School.  The number of students achieving the top grades of A and A* has also set new records for the school.  

Commenting on the results Chris Tomes, Headteacher at Churchmead School said

“I would like to congratulate our students on achieving record breaking results. I wish them well as they move onto their sixth form studies many of whom have secured places at Grammar School and our new Sixth Form. I would also like to thank their teachers and parents for the commitment they have shown in achieving the very best academic results.”

Special mention must go to the following students: Rukayya Saifuddin achieved 7 A* and 5 A grades. James Copley achieved 5A* grades and 5 A grades. Zoiea Nadeem achieved 3 A* and 6 A grades, Martyna Karbowska 3A* grades, 4 A grades and Steven White 1 A* and 7 A grades.

Headboy James Copley commented “I am delighted with my results and I would like to thank Churchmead School for being such a fantastic school in supporting me in my studies. I am looking forward to continuing my Education at Churchmead sixth form where I will be studying English, Media and Photography.”

Students in English, Maths and Science performed exceptionally well. The Humanities subjects; French, Geography, History and RE also achieved top results. Our Creative Arts subjects of Media, Photography and Art continue to set the highest standards in their work and results.
