“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes...”
On Wednesday 18 October, 23 of our students took part in the National Shakespeare Schools Festival in Southhill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell. After months of rehearsals, they took to the stage to perform Macbeth in front of an audience of 300 people.
On the night there were four schools performing their set plays and Churchmead’s adaptation was captivating, exciting and had the audience gripped from start to finish. They fully embraced the script and used physical theatre and a sinister masked ensemble to really capture the essence of the play. Their performance displayed their maturity, passion and commitment to the craft and they were an absolute credit to the school. It was also wonderful to have so many parents, staff from the school and members of our community join us for the evening.
