Churchmead Girls Crowned Inter-Schools Sevens Champions!

On Tuesday 10th June, the Churchmead Girls’ Football Team competed in the Inter-Schools Sevens Tournament. After narrowly missing out on the title last year in a heartbreaking penalty shootout, the team returned with determination and focus.

They dominated the group stage, winning all of their matches without conceding a single goal. In the semi-finals, they faced tough competition but rose to the challenge, securing a solid 2–0 victory.

The final saw them go head-to-head with host school Furze Platt. In a tense and closely contested match, neither side managed to score, taking the game to penalties. Remarkably, Churchmead had still not conceded a goal throughout the entire tournament.

With nerves of steel, the team triumphed in the penalty shootout, earning the well-deserved title of Inter-Schools Sevens Champions!

Congratulations to the entire squad for their outstanding performance, teamwork, and resilience!
